Geography Field Trips

Geography Field Trips

Welcome to our section on geography field studies, specifically the limestone/karst environment and focusing on Upland Limestone.

Working with one of the most experienced and highly qualified caving instructors in the UK, we suggest you combine your Outdoor Residential or day trip with real learning outcomes.

We utilise the Yorkshire Dales National Park as a case study, and explore both the physical and social geography of a limestone area.

Our bespoke programmes start with close planning to provide an experience that combines both adventure and activity with working through the syllabus.

Cave exploration then enables a unique and greater understanding of the physical environment while travelling through it and allows students to link the various Calcareous features together and see a variety of stages of cave development.

We encourage planning in the classroom before the environmental experience and then a review upon return (Kolbs Learning cycle) and work with you to manage this process.

This course gives students the opportunity to explore real geographical contexts in a fun, exciting and engaging way. The group will directly experience a range of physical landscapes and gain a unique insight into the interaction of people and the environment. The activity also enables us to develop the students’ personal skills, motivation and team skills in an unfamiliar environment, and encourage activities that promote a healthy lifestyle and develop an appreciation of the outdoors.

Our experience can be the focus of your trip or can combine with other adventurous and educational activities – just contact us with your aims and we will help plan a great trip.
