Another successful and fun-filled 2 days were had by all attending our recent school activity event.
Seventy-Six Year 7 students from Ashville College Harrogate attended our two day Team Challenge and Team Bonding event in rural Yorkshire; challenging themselves to a tour de force of activities including a Rock Experience, Gorge Scrambling, Biking Skills and team challenge games! Although these events were fun and exciting we hope everyone went away with a new set of skills, developed team bond, and an increased sense of self-confidence.
We’d like to thank all the students, teachers, staff and Sixth Form helpers who made it all possible and such a wonderful two days.
We always look forward to our School Outdoor Activity Events and can’t wait to do it all again next year! A great time had by all.
As part of the preparation for spring (typically an upturn in demand for our Outdoor Adventures) we’ve revised a lot of the content on the website with additional activities for Outdoor Clubs, Geography Field Trips and Team Fun Days for sports clubs.
Most of the popular outdoor adventures from previous years have been maintained so if you’re planning a corporate event, stag do or hen party then please browse the site for your group and contact us with details of your group size, potential dates, your objectives and budget – we can then tailor an event to suit you perfectly.
Congratulations to the team at Welcome to Yorkshire on securing the first two stages of this iconic race in 2014 – beating bids from Barcelona, Berlin and Venice.
It’s obviously going to be a very popular event with organisers expecting three MILLION people to line the route. Day one starts in Leeds and ends in Harrogate via Hawes and Skipton – a minimum of 115 miles of stunning Yorkshire countryside. Day two sees the riders starting in York and traveling through Knaresborough, Keighley, Huddersfield, Holmfirth before ending 110 miles later in Sheffield.
There’s an overview map of the routes taken by each stage below:
For any groups wanting to improve their mountain biking skills we offer tailored experiences and adventures to suit all skill levels, experience and objectives – from good fun stag do’s, as part of a team building programme and for more serious adventure seekers. Contact us with details of your group size, preferred dates and what you want to achieve and we’ll propose an outdoor experience to suit your group.
While the current season’s weather can be quite challenging for anyone wanting to participate in outdoor activities we are running group events throughout the winter.
However the majority of enquiries we currently receive are for Team Building activities for next spring and summer when the weather in Yorkshire is more dependable and conducive to positive and great fun days out.
Our outdoor activities are perfect as part of a wider leadership development program, a one off team building day or simply as a great staff reward day.
Each day is based on a proven event and tailored for the specific group who are taking part so we can deliver your objectives ensuring everyone experiences something new or develops their existing skills.
The range of team building activities delivered in 2012 included:
- Rock Climbing
- Mountain Biking
- Treasure Hunts
- Gorge Walking
And we’re adding new events across Yorkshire all the time so if you want to get the most out of your team in 2013 then contact us with details of the group size, potential dates and your objectives and we’ll outline an event within your budget.

At the recent Bradford Pothole Club winch meet by Gaping Ghyll we met a guy selling amazing cards raising funds to support British cave expeditions undertaking exploration and cave science.
The pack of ten high quality cards are blank inside so can be used for any purpose – and the pictures are certainly unique.
You can buy the cards from Bernies or Inglesport in Ingleton; Hitch n Hike in Hope Valley, Derbshire or from the Ghar Parau Shop – follow the link for more information.
If cavers would like any advice or have questions about organising or participating in caving expeditions etc abroad they can contact the Ghar Parau Foundation who will put them in contact with the relevant people.

Here’s a few recent pictures taken at Brimham Rocks – it’s an amazing site for team building / leadership events, rock climbing and just sheer fun scrambling around the rocks as a family.
Hopefully you enjoyed these pictures of Brimham Rocks – do see the website for details of outdoor adventure activities across Yorkshire for Team Building, Stag dos and hen parties.
Despite the howling gales and severe wet weather the weekend’s outdoor activities for Rock Steady have all been successfully completed – the instructors end of day reports are filed and the safety equipment has been returned to the stores so time to relax now.
We implemented our wet weather contingency for the school group rock climbing at Brimham Rocks, North Yorkshire today calling an early close to the rock climbing, scrambling and weaselling to change the beauty of the natural environment for the practicality of a purpose built indoor climbing wall.
Having stressed about the sheer amount of rainfall all week a fantastic break in the rain resulted in almost perfect caving conditions at Alum Pot & the Long Churn caving system for a stag do on Saturday.
In amongst the group outdoor pursuits this weekend we’ve also added Dalby Forest Lodges and two beautiful Wass self catering cottages to our accommodation section – so welcome on board to the new places to stay.
